12 Movie Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (Feb 21)

7. Emily Blunt May Be The New Mary Poppins

It was announced late last year that a Mary Poppins sequel was in the works, set 20 years after the original movie but largely standing alone, drawing from other books in P.L. Travers' series. This past week, it's been widely reported that Disney are seeking out Emily Blunt for the part that Julie Andrews made so famous, having been impressed with her work in Into the Woods. The movie will be directed by the wildly inconsistent Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods), but at least it's hard to imagine a more fitting casting choice than Blunt. Even if the movie ends up sucking, she'll almost certainly nail a home run.
