12 Movies Christopher Nolan Should Make Next

1. A Period Film Noir

In different ways, the vast majority of Nolan's movies already are noirs: his audacious debut Following and follow-ups Memento and Insomnia are all neo-noir films, his Batman trilogy is about as film noir as the Caped Crusader will ever get, and Inception also boasts numerous elements from classic crime fiction (namely Marion Cotillard's vicious femme fatale). Given that many of Nolan's personal favourite movies are classic film noirs, it would be great to see the director himself make a straight-up foray into the genre, directing a period film noir like, say, L.A. Confidential. Considering the insane cast he would no doubt attract and the potential for some thrilling set-pieces (namely an epic car chase or two), combined with the director's penchant for dark, twisty stories, there's no way this wouldn't work. How Likely Is It?: Actually not outside the realm of possibility at all. It fits his style and tonal preferences like a glove, and would be a nice change of pace from his over-the-top action flicks. 7/10.What would you love to see Christopher Nolan make next?
