12 Movies Christopher Nolan Should Make Next

9. A Horror Movie

It's worth remembering that Inception was originally conceived by Nolan as a horror film before it transformed into a more accessible heist film. Considering how completely terrible the vast majority of mainstream horror movies are (Ouija, anyone?), to have a director of Nolan's imagination and vision working on a genre project of this type would be hugely exciting. Given how frequently Nolan's work is compared to Kubrick's, it would be interesting to see him take a similar stylistic approach to Kubrick's incredibly iconic masterwork The Shining. For all of the accusations that Nolan is a cold and emotionally detached director, this could be an interesting way to harness that perceived iciness to create an eerie, deeply unsettling horror flick. How Likely Is It?: Not very, in all honesty. Though it would be a bold move forward for the director, it's so far outside his wheelhouse that it's hard to imagine him still being interested in making a movie of this type. It would be great to be wrong about this, though. 2/10.
