Nolan has made it clear over the years that he's a huge fan of the James Bond franchise, and included one evident, massive homage to On Her Majesty's Secret Service (his favourite Bond film) in Inception, with the thrilling snow-topped action sequence. Not long after Inception, rumours surfaced online that the director was being courted to direct a Bond flick in the future, and Nolan didn't exactly seem averse to the idea. Of potentially being hired for the job, he said, "It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things", and frankly, there's not much better a time for Nolan to climb aboard the franchise. With Sam Mendes ready to start shooting Bond 24 and nobody yet signed to direct Bond 25 (despite EON's attempts to bring Mendes back for a third time), the timing is pretty much spot-on: Nolan could direct the 25th film for a 2017/2018 release, if a possible 4-year gap between projects isn't too much for him (Nolan did have a 3-year gap between Insomnia and Batman Begins). Above all else, considering the fact that Mendes himself has clearly drawn stylistically from Nolan's Batman franchise for Skyfall, it would only be all-too-appropriate that Nolan would then follow his work, keeping the movies stylistically consistent for a time. How Likely Is It?: Actually pretty likely. Nolan clearly loves the series, and it's just a case of how eager he is to get filming another project again. Bond 25 likely won't start filming until late 2017, so if Nolan keeps up his current work-rate, it's always possible he could film another project for a 2016 or early 2017 release and still have time to prep for Bond. 7/10.
