12 Movies From 2015 That Really Shouldn’t Have Been Boring

9. Jupiter Ascending

The Promise Your excitement levels for Jupiter Ascending probably depended significantly on how you feel about the Wachowskis, but even the most jaded cynics surely wouldn't deny the fact that the siblings have two of the most imaginative minds in Hollywood. It was hoped that the film - which was always going to be bonkers and ornate - would live up to the billing suggested by Douglas Booth of combining Star Wars with The Matrix. The Problem Unfortunately, the Star Wars it channelled was the Prequels, and the Matrix was the sequels. So the results were over-blown, over-stylised and oddly hollow. It's a grotesque contradiction: there are aspirations to be massively entertaining and a sensory experience, but in the end it's a lame peacock that just wasn't much fun.
