12 Movies From 2015 That Really Shouldn’t Have Been Boring

5. Tomorrowland

The Promise A good old fashioned nostalgic sci-fi from the great, imaginative mid of Brad Bird, with George Clooney in as the leading man and a commitment to the spirit of the simpler days of the genre. The Problem Sadly, for all of its good intentions and its stunning art design, Tomorrowland never really gets out of first gear. It might look the part and the acting might all be okay, but there's nothing spectacular. And in a film that purports to be about an aspirational utopia where humanity exists on a ahigher plane, that's a pretty catastrophic flaw. While the agenda to infuse nostalgia into a gentler sci-fi story, the film struggles because of a lack of entertaining sequences, like a new version of Jumanji where you play the game mostly without incident and everyone ends up living happily ever after.
