The first Now You See Me had an engaging premise - four Robin Hood-esque magicians use their tricks to steal from the rich and corrupt to give to their, uh, fans - and enough solid action sequences to be a passably-entertaining time at the movies. Throw in a few engaging twists (admittedly as obvious as the sun in the sky, but still) bolstered by an all-star cast and you get $350 million in worldwide box office gross. Arguably worth a sequel... mostly from a business standpoint. It's for the sequel that Mark Ruffalo makes his return, after being revealed (spoiler alert for a three-year-old film) as the arch-manipulator/benefactor behind 'the Four Horsemen' and their altruistic schemes in the first film. What role his wily magical mentor will fulfil this time around remains to be seen - he could even be the villain of the piece, rather than the behind-the-scenes hero he was before. Either way, Ruffalo tends to bring a gravitas to this kind of empty, showy spectacle that it could sorely do with (as he did the first time around).
