12 Movies That Scammed You With Fake Foreshadowing
5. Django Will Hang - Django Unchained
The Foreshadowing
Not long after the start of Django Unchained, when Django joins King Schultz's service as his companion and fellow bounty hunter, the two ride into town looking for their first contract. Conspicuously, in the foreground of the shot, Tarantino frames a noose hanging into the shot and as Django rides into the shot, his head is captured for a second in the middle of the noose.
It's the kind of clever foreshadowing you might expect from a film-maker as in love with narrative imagery as Tarantino, and it definitely feels like a suggestion that Django will end the movie hanging from a rope around his neck.
What Actually Happened...
Despite the fact that Quentin Tarantino has a bit of a penchant for killing main characters, Django survives one of the bloodiest finales in all of his director's works and gets to ride off into the sunset with his wife.
