12 Movies That Wasted Great Twist Ideas

4. Remember Me— It's A 9/11 Movie In Disguise

It was 9/11 all along!

As you can see, it's easy to make the twist of romantic drama Remember Me seem laughable. Fun, too.

And this film was a godsend to the many critics who desperately wanted to maul any post-Twilight projects from young star Robert Pattinson.

But whilst this maudlin drama does stumble in its attempt at profundity, the last second reveal that both of heroine's love interest and father died during the infamous terror attack could easily have been better foreshadowed.

Hell, the film could even have been a mature, elegiac look at lost love if it had, revolutionary idea here, explained how the pair died at the start rather than revealing it as a hysterically tasteless gotcha moment. This twist would really work best if it weren't a twist, but rather a romance which made no bones about centring its story around one of the most famous events in recent history.

After all, it's not like Titanic hid which boat it took place on until the end.

Cathal Gunning hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
