12 Movies & TV Shows You Didn't Know Were Remade On Broadway

4. The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is still regarded as a cult classic and it seems every generation of teenagers rediscover and fall in love with the 80s film. So wouldn't it seem natural to attach musical numbers about detention and Claire's virginity? Well...not exactly.

Teenagers love the story for its grunge and "cool" style, so high beat musical theater performers weren't what audiences wanted to see when the show premiered in New York City in 2004. As a result of what was said to be an embarrassing attempt at capitalizing nostalgia, there is very little evidence the remake ever existed.

But, high school theater groups still perform productions of the failed show to this day and lucky for us, post them to YouTube for everyone to see what was.
