A lot of Spider-Man's most iconic supervillains are geniuses. The Lizard is the world leading herpetologist. Doctor Octopus knows more about atomic energy than anyone on the planet. The Jackal is a master at human cloning.

However, there is another trait that Spidey's rogue gallery share; they're idiots. Throughout the movies, nearly every supervillain deduces the wallcrawler's secret identity. And how many of them use this crucial information against him? Until recently, the answer was zero.

In Spider-Man: Far from Home, Quentin Beck pretends to be a superhero from another world. In reality, he is a disgruntled ex-employee of Tony Stark who masquerades as the heroic Mysterio. Beck uses tech to project holograms of monsters and then pretends to defeat them to strengthen his status as a superhero.

In the end, Spider-Man learns of Mysterio's duplicity and faces him in combat. During the fight, Beck's drone misfires, killing him.

Although Spidey seemed to save the day, Mysterio wasn't stupid enough to have a contingency. In the post-credits scene, a news broadcast shows pre-taped footage of Beck exposing Peter Parker's identity to the world and framing him for murder. Mysterio may have been killed but it's clear he got the drop on Spider-Man.
