12 Movies Where The Villain Turns Good

10. Scarlet Witch And Quicksilver (Avengers: Age Of Ultron)

The terrible 2 of Avengers 2 wind up doing a total 180 in the morality department. Troubled lab rats from a war torn country, the Maximoffs harbour great hatred towards Tony Stark and, by extension, the rest of the Avengers. Seeing Stark as a primary culprit behind the ruination of Sokovia, the twins team up with newborn baddie Ultron.

Badly beating and embarrassing the Avengers, they have a change of heart after The Scarlet Witch sees into Ultron’s mind. Horrified at the thought of total planetary destruction, they join the Avengers to put a stop to Ultron’s madness. Quicksilver’s self sacrifice to save Hawkeye (who he’d been antagonising throughout the film) proves to be among the MCU’s most moving moments. While Quicksilver’s tenure on the team was painfully brief, he proved himself a more than worthy hero.

The Scarlet Witch has remained a fixture of the Avengers ever since, even laying a beatdown on 2014 Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Classic team members from the comics, The Maximoffs’ redemption is a show stealing highlight in the polarising Age of Ultron.

John Cunningham hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
