After the finale of the Infinity Saga, the MCU is gearing up to head straight into phase four with Black Widow in May 2020. Though we know the full slate for the next chapter of the franchise, and some beyond that, there is still so much we don't know.

In terms of new characters coming into the franchise we know about several, including Black Widow's family back in Russia, Shang-Chi, and the entire Eternals team to name but a few. For every character confirmed however, there are literally hundreds that could be introduced in the near future.

Of course this is exciting, as the possibilities are as close to unlimited as you could wish for, but without perfect casting, these characters could be wasted. Think either of the previous iterations of Doctor Doom, or Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko. While the MCU's casting missteps are few and far between, this simply heightens expectations going forward.

Some characters on this list have already been teased to be on the way by Kevin Feige, while others may not have been mentioned yet, but should be introduced as soon as possible none the less.

12. Taron Egerton As Wolverine

Recent rumours are pointing to Henry Cavill making the jump to Marvel to bring Logan to life, and while the man behind Superman and Geralt of Rivia wouldn't be a bad shout by any means, there is only one man to bring Wolverine into the MCU.

Over his so far relatively young career, Taron Egerton has proved himself an incredible, versatile actor. Portraying wildly different characters in Eggsy, Eddie the Eagle, and Elton John, the actor has shown he can do just about anything.

Logan would be yet another vastly different character to add to his current portfolio, and his action background from the Kingsman franchise should hold him in good stead in bringing the aggressive mutant to life. Not to mention his friendship with Hugh Jackman, who he could surely utilise for any tips and help with regards to the character.

Egerton has previously stated he would love to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future, and would clearly nail the look of the beloved character. Even down to the shorter, stockier build more accurate to the comics that not even Hugh Jackman could bring to the table.
