3. Seven - John Doe's Scheme Doesn't Actually Make Sense

This is in a similar category to Get Out.

Seven is a harrowing, captivating and haunting masterpiece which is arguably the best serial killer horror film ever made (sorry, Silence of the Lambs), but there's one very distracting wrinkle in an otherwise beautifully-plotted film that you just have to accept in order to completely lose yourself in the experience.

Serial killer John Doe (Kevin Spacey) is said to have been planning his series of murders for years; it's a meticulously crafted scheme to the extent that the police only capture John Doe because he turned himself in. Everything has been planned down to the last detail... or has it?

The final two deaths revolve heavily around detective David Mills (Brad Pitt), but Mills is a new detective and it seems a bit far-fetched that Doe suddenly worked him into this scheme which had been years in the planning. He certainly didn't seem like someone who did things on the fly, put it that way.

Had Seven given this a bit more of an explanation - and also hinted at what Doe's plans would've been had Mills not become involved - that definitely would've been appreciated.
