12 Perfect Stories Affleck's Solo Batman Movie Must Adapt
5. Death Of The Family
With Jared Leto's Joker available, it would be wrong not to consider all of the villain's most notorious stories for Affleck's solo movie. Again, Scott Snyder is the genius behind this cheerful little number, which starts with a bang as the Joker has the Dollmaker remove his face as a sign of rebirth.
That might sound like a rather extreme bow to make, but this is the same Joker who has stolen focus in the pre-release marketing for Suicide Squad with unnerving stories of method commitment and co-star harassment. Having him develop into a particularly unhinged incarnation of the Clown Prince of Crime isn't even that much of a leap.
The biggest selling point here would be watching Leto unravel, with his genius plan to trick Batman into thinking his whole Batfamily have had their faces removed (via a perfectly cinematic climax, no less). But there's potential for more nuance, as the script could tie in Affleck's Batman's guilt at the death of the original Robin and his concerns about collateral damage to the Joker's plot. It almost writes itself.
