12 Pointless Subplots In Otherwise Awesome Movies

Fast and the Furious 6 is a literally awesome movie, taking the franchise from the heist movie absurdity of Fast Five to truly cartoonish heights that now seem absolutely routine.

However, enjoying all that vehicular mayhem does require audiences to sit through one incredibly laughable subplot, even for the rather low standards of this franchise. With Michelle Rodriguez's Letty not only returning from the dead but now working against Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew, it's clear something fishy is going on.

It turns out, in fact, that Letty has been suffering from amnesia ever since her near-death experience in the fourth movie, and the villainous Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) took advantage of that by luring her into his gang.

It's just way, way too melodramatic, even for this series. It'd be much easier to swallow down if Letty simply suffered from PTSD following the accident and had been psychologically abused by Shaw for several years, to the point where she did whatever he asked.

That'd at least make more sense than Shaw bringing a freaking amnesiac into his team, which is a terrible idea no matter how you cut it.
