12 Possible Meanings Of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Title

2. Palpatine Created Clones

Rise Of The Skywalker
Disney

A strange and unlikely twist on an earlier entry. What if there is another Skywalker, but what if it is one created for the use of evil by Palpatine? Ignoring Palpatines skill at manipulating midi-chlorians, it is very possible that in episode five when Luke has his hand cut off in cloud city, that Palpatine managed to get his hands on it, therefore having Luke's DNA to create clones.

Perhaps Palpatine created these clones to use as sentient beings to transfer his essence into, à la Emperor Vitiate, Exar Kun and Darth Bane. It is a force ability yet to be seen in canon but one which begs to be utilised as it opens so many avenues for various stories. Introducing it by having Palpatine create another Skywalker would be fascinating.

Going back to a previous entry, it is extremely possible that one of, if not the only of these clones is in fact Rey. If that is the case it is a much better, smarter and thoughtful way of fulfilling that arc than just having her be the offspring of Luke, Leia or other, as it retains her nothingness which is so essential to her characters inspiring nature.
