12 Possible Meanings Of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Title

5. Anakin Skywalker Returns

Rise Of The Skywalker
Lucasfilm

The wait to see Anakin Skywalker return to Star Wars since the Disney acquisition has been a long one. Darth Vader/Anakin may well be the best character in Star Wars and to see Hayden Christensen reprise his role as the chosen one in episode nine is both timing to perfection and a dream of many Star Wars fans.

What if J. J. and Lucasfilm have decided to have what happened with Yoda in The Last Jedi happen with Anakin in The Rise Of Skywalker in that he surprisingly appears to much avail to our heroes and to much adoration from fans. The biggest difference from Yoda's cameo though in this instance would likely - especially when talking within the confides of the meaning of the film's title - be that Anakin would have a much more prominent and impactful role.

Anakin could be joined by Obi-Wan and Yoda, he could be on his own to give aid to our heroes, he could perhaps even reveal himself to Kylo. Or what if for the first time in thirty-six years we see Luke and Anakin on screen. Maybe the film shows us Anakin and Palpatine together. All-in-all there are many a ways to have Anakin in this movie in a meaningful way and have the Skywalker story wrap up with Anakin and his son, just as it started.
