12 Possible Meanings Of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Title

4. Luke Is Ressurected

Rise Of The Skywalker
Disney

Taking a mix of retconning The Last Jedi and the return of Luke Skywalker leads to this possibility. In The Last Jedi we clearly see Luke become one with the force as Obi-Wan so famously done in A New Hope. But what if this is not actually what we witnessed happen in front of the poetic binary sunset of Ach-To? Or more interestingly what if it did, but Luke Skywalker rises?

Resurrection is something yet to truly be seen in Star Wars canon, unless you count Maul's return(s) as 'resurrections'. Although considering time travel adjacent, hyperspace, the will to survive certain death through hatred, microscopic living organisms which live in everyone and form symbiotic relationships with their host and, of course, the force are all canon, is resurrection really that crazy an idea?

Like all entries on this list how it would be done is key. Something as delicate as the return from death walks the line of sensical genius and unexplainably stupid. Add in the fact you are dealing with one of the most beloved characters in pop culture history whose legacy in some fans minds was ruined in the last film and going this route would be extremely risky; but could reap massive rewards if done correctly.
