12 Potential Future James Bond Directors

5. Ridley Scott

Ridley Scott Directing Its a little surprising that Ridley Scott's name hasn't cropped up more often in regards to the Bond franchise, given his status as one of the premier British filmmakers and his comfort in both working within the studio system and penchant for big-budget fare. Now 76 years old, it seems unlikely that the director will ever make a 007 movie but there is no doubt it would be visually stunning at the very least. For such a celebrated director with a filmography littered with great movies dating back to 1977, Scott has never made a straight-up Hollywood action movie. There have been historical epics, period pieces, war movies, sci-fi's, crime thrillers and character dramas but never the kind of adrenaline-pumping genre pieces that brother Tony was well-known for. His movies consistently feature stunning production design, atmospheric settings and gorgeous cinematography along with exhilarating action, elements that would lend themselves extremely well to the Bond franchise.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
