12 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About Star Wars: The Last Jedi

9. Leia Should've Died Instead Of Vice Admiral Holdo

It's not easy to say this, but it would've made so much more sense on both a narrative and logistical level if General Leia was the one to sacrifice herself instead of Vice Admiral Holdo, staying behind and blasting into Snoke's fleet at lightspeed.

Not only would this have been a fitting end for a character who, let's be honest, hasn't exactly done much over the course of these two new movies, but it would've kept Holdo alive to fight another day (as Laura Dern did fine work in the role), and conveniently written Carrie Fisher out ahead of Episode IX.

While it'll be easy enough to have Leia die off-screen before the next film, a bada** sacrificial death would've meant so much more and given everyone involved an easy out moving forward.
