12 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About Star Wars: The Last Jedi

8. Finn & Rose's Romance Was Goofy Garbage

Up until the final 10 minutes of The Last Jedi, it seemed like the new series of Star Wars movies was going to smartly avoid shoving hamfisted romance into the mix for no reason at all.

Then came perhaps the film's most embarrassing moment of all: Rose not only rescues Finn from going full kamikaze into a giant First Order weapon, but when he pulls her from the wreckage, she declares her love for him and the pair kiss, all while the Resistance base gets hammered with artillery in the background.

It's such an ill-advised, corny moment, and while it was clearly intended to introduce some levity into a high-stakes scene, it felt totally out of place. These two barely know one another but Rose is already busy pouring her heart out to him. It's nonsense, and hopefully Episode IX won't devote much screen time to their love-in. No thanks.
