12 Questions About Harry Potter Movies That Keep You Up At Night

10. Where Was Peeves?!

Whenever a book series is translated to the big screen, there will inevitably be pieces of the story that don't make the final cut. Of course, Harry Potter is no different, and while there were certain elements that never made it into the movies, like SPEW and the Quidditch World Cup Final match itself, it's the omitted characters that hurt the most.

The likes of Ludo Bagman, Teddy Lupin, and Professor Binns all fail to make a single appearance in the movies, but possibly the biggest omission was that of Peeves. The Hogwarts poltergeist made many appearances in the source material, but was never given a moment on screen.

The character was well known around the school for the pranks he played on teachers and students alike, and while he may have seemed out of place at the tail end of the franchise as the tone grew darker, he would have been a perfect addition to the earlier movies.

Throw into the mix the fact that Rik Mayall was actually cast to play Peeves, to this day we're left asking why they got rid of what would have been a wonderful, and perfectly portrayed addition to the franchise?
