12 R-Rated Comic Book Movies We Need To See After Logan & Deadpool

4. Judge Dredd

If there was any justice in the world, there would already be several Dredd films starring Karl Urban and in the exact same style as the 2012 reboot helmed by Pete Travis. But no matter how much the people who saw it loved it, it made a paltry amount of money thanks to a fundamentally broken marketing campaign.

But if a different studio picked up the rights and marketed it properly, there's no reason a similarly brutal take on 2000 AD's most famous character couldn't work. It would absolutely have to be R-Rated though, if only to stop the possibility of Rob Schneider turning up.

The Likelihood

Slim. No matter how many times Karl Urban teases the film being in production, if it was going to happen, you have to think it already would have by now. Obviously, that's a shame, but it doesn't appear that the studio currently holding the rights is motivated right.
