12. Rambo Started Killing People

Yes, First Blood introduced the Rambo brand, but it wasn€™t until three years later that the hard-wired, granite-jawed military machine started really opening a can of his patented whup-ass. The first movie had just one kill as it wrestled with more complex ideas about post-traumatic stress disorder and military institutionalism set against the toxic influence of corrupt small town law enforcement. It was great, but it wasn€™t what you remember Rambo for. By 1985, he was back in the killing business, ramping up his kill count from 1 to 69, a massive percentage increase (and the first step to his unfathomable 200 plus count in John Rambo. And a great film cliche was born.
