12 Reasons Why Justice League Is Worse Than Batman V Superman
11. The Effects Feel Unfinished
If there's one thing about Justice League that both fans and critics can agree on, it's that the effects and the CGI work doesn't hold a candle to other superhero films, or even previous movies in the DCEU.
Almost certainly a result of the troubled development process, it's clear the effects team didn't have enough time with the final edit to polish every single shot, resulting in CGI that completely pulls you out of the movie. Much has been said about Henry Cavill's 'stach, which is by far the most obvious and egregious casualty of the film's troubled production, but this shouldn't overshadow the rest of the movie's shortcomings.
Because while Cavill's Shrek face is pretty bad, Steppenwolf's motion capture is just as shocking. Especially in his opening scenes, the villian looks like a poorly-rendered blur taken directly from an uninspired PS4 game. Steppenwolf is already lacking in other areas, but his shoddy design is by far the biggest indication of just how bland the character is.
Likewise, the reshot scenes themselves are obviously identifiable by their fuzzy CGI backdrops that further pull you out of the action. Nothing holds up, and for a huge spectacle that's claiming to be best experienced on the biggest screen possible, it fails miserably.
