12 Reasons Why Justice League Is Worse Than Batman V Superman
10. Action Scenes Have No Weight To Them
Although the previous movies in the DCEU took a lot of flack from critics, Zack Snyder's action scenes were universally praised. The director's distinctly kinetic filming style lends itself well to powerful action beats, with the Batman fight in the final third of the previous movie being a particularly strong highlight.
Unfortunately, this visceral intensity is nowhere to be found in Justice League. There's nothing that matches the spectacle of BvS' warehouse scene, with Wonder Woman's introductory sequence probably being the most interestingly choreographed fight in the whole movie. Every other major set-piece lacks weight however, with the battles against the Parademons in particular being devoid of any real "that was awesome!" moments.
The thing is, while you would naturally blame this lacklustre action on the production problems, most of the major set-pieces (bar the climax) are from Snyder's original cut. Why the quality of the action has nosedived so much since BvS isn't clear, but there's no denying that it makes for a final film that wastes the potential of its comic book source material.
