12 Ridiculous Castings That Almost Ruined DC Comic Book Movies

2. Hulk Hogan - Superman Lives

The Role: Doomsday

Who Was Cast Instead: Nobody

What Happened?

Back when Tim Burton was attached to direct Superman Lives, he was interested in casting Hulk Hogan - then a massive money-making draw for WWE thanks to the nWo storylines - to play iconic super-villain Doomsday.

Unfortunately for him - and fortunately for all of us - the role was cut out of the script before he could be hired.

The Results

Jesus Christ, can you imagine it? He might have been bad as Mr Freeze, but he at least could have played with the puns and offered a comedic role, but to have him play a straight version of Doomsday - presumably just roaring and flexing his muscles - would have just been ridiculous.

There have been flashes of brilliance in Hogan's acting career, but the big picture suggests he's not suited for it, so any time he missed out on a roll really had to be considered a dodged bullet.
