12 Ridiculously Macho Movies You Must See

10. Stone Cold

Showdown In Little Tokyo
Columbia Pictures

This was the debut movie designed to set up ex-NFL player Brian Bosworth as a new action hero for the ‘90s. It didn’t propel him to stardom but it is a pretty great action movie, and Bosworth isn’t half as bad as you think he is going to be. The movie revolves around Bosworth’s tough cop, Joe Huff, who is forced to go undercover by the FBI to infiltrate a violent biker gang led by Lance Henriksen’s Chains.

Whilst the acting is pretty bad and the clothing worse, this is a really fun action movie that stands up through its strong story and action set pieces. It is worth noting that this was directed by Craig R. Baxley who plied his trade as a stunt co-ordinator prior to Directing and this really shines through in Stone Cold.

Stone Cold has managed to become somewhat of a cult hit in more recent years and certainly holds a sense of nostalgia for many who grew up on this kind of action classic. As for Brian Bosworth, he didn’t do much more but did make an interesting sophomore movie in One Tough Bastard.
