12 Saturn Award-Winning Performances Of The 2010s That Should've Been Oscar-Nominated

9. Mary Elizabeth Winstead - 10 Cloverfield Lane

The film formerly known as The Cellar - before it became something of a spiritual sequel to the smash hit Cloverfield during production and changed titles accordingly - was something of a surprise hit with critics upon release and conversation briefly sparked over whether veteran actor John Goodman was worthy of awards season success for his particularly sharp performance.

But we feel his co-star deserves just as much acclaim for her unwavering brilliance in this fine-tuned rollercoaster of a film. Initially confined by her host and gradually growing in strength through her shock, it's the sort of well-seen lead turn that Winstead had been deserving of since Scott Pilgrim vs. the World half-a-decade prior, and she seizes it with both hands to excellent effect.
