12 Sci-Fi Movie Sequels That Deserve A Second Chance

Taken on its own merits, Critters 3 makes for a pretty standard outing as far as the goofy “Gremlins, but they’re aliens and eat people” eighties horror comedy franchise goes. Sure, the action may be uprooted from the small town of Grover’s Bend into a cramped inner-city apartment block and the gore may be toned down (save for the landlord, who more than deserves his fate).
But by and large this’s a pretty pedestrian outing for the chattering extra-terrestrials, and as such it’s worth a watch even if it doesn’t hit the inventive heights set by the 1986 original. But that’s not why we recommend giving Critters 3 another chance.
No, this one deserves to be seen because it features the first film appearance of a very young and adorable Leo DiCaprio, who plays the protagonist and shows a little of the promise which would one day make him a Hollywood superstar.
