9. Clarence Dies At The End - True Romance
When Quentin Tarantino was still coming up through the ranks in Hollywood, he offered director Tony Scott two of his scripts, Reservoir Dogs and True Romance, and said that he could only direct one. Scott picked True Romance, leaving Tarantino to take on Reservoir Dogs. As we now know, both scripts resulted in a couple of awesome movies. However, not everything went as planned - despite Tarantino stating that True Romance was pretty faithful to his script and Scott did a good job, the film's happy ending was far from what was originally written. The film's ending as you know it featured Clarence (Christian Slater) and Alabama (Patricia Arquette) getting away with the money and living it up on beach. Tarantino's original scripted ending on the other hand had Clarence die at the film's climax, Alabama getting away with the money, and then revealing that she didn't care about Clarence at all before the credits start rolling. Scott had actually filmed the original scripted ending but he changed it because he grew to love the characters so much that he wanted a happy ending instead. Whilst Tarantino later admitted that Scott's decision was the right one, his ego inevitably took over and he added that if he had made the movie, it would've been much darker and he would've stuck to his original written ending because it was just better.

My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
You can follow me at @Fry_ying_pan but don't be offended if I don't tweet back. It's usually because I've spent too long trying to think up a witty response that the reply window has closed.
