9. What Actually Killed Leia?

The sad passing of Carrie Fisher presented JJ Abrams with the difficult task of writing the character out respectfully using repurposed footage shot before she died. It wasn't entirely successful, but it was a lot more impressive than the circumstances probably should have dictated.

That being said, it's not entirely clear what brings an end to Leia's story.

In The Last Jedi, we see that Luke dies through expending a huge amount of Force power to project himself across the Galaxy and exhausting himself. It's a feat you can believe is fatal, but it's not really mirrored in Leia's death.

She seems to die simply by projecting a whisper to Kylo Ren. Or was she behind the ghost of Han Solo? Or did she actually manipulate Ben's mind away from Darkness? It would have been nice for it to be a little more definitive than it is.
