12 Stupid Film Posters That Totally Spoiled The Movie

2. Cabin In The Woods

Lionsgate

Dedicated horror fans everywhere avoided reviews, trailers, posters, or even the slightest mention of Cabin In The Woods prior to its release. Why? Because everyone had already heard one key thing about the Joss Whedon-Drew Goddard indie gem: there'€™s a big twist that redefines the entire genre as we know it. Why would you pick at a hint like that?

But the film€™'s Japanese marketing team loved the film€™s twist so much that they put it on the poster! Squished in at the top of the frame is the titular cabin, which barely makes an appearance as most of the sheet is dedicated to the sprawling system of cubes beneath the shack, housing history€™'s most feared monsters. Not all of the beasties are included, but it'€™s the fact of the audience being tipped off to a location before they step in the darkened theatre that€™'s the real spoiler.
