12 Stupid Film Posters That Totally Spoiled The Movie

6. Quarantine

Screen Gems

The Blair Witch Project viral campaign back in 1999 tackled the same genre as Quarantine - found footage horror - and managed to convey the same sense of dread... without revealing the fate of the key character on its one sheets.

In a nutshell, the remake follows a late-night news reporter (Jennifer Carpenter) who, while shadowing a fire department for a story, winds up venturing with them to a incident. Not long after a bunch of people are trapped in an apartment block, there€™'s a foaming geriatric with a bloodlust and wha-bam! The building'€™s gone into lockdown.

Despite it doing a €˜Van Sant€™ and reshooting the Spanish original shot-for-shot, it works. Or it would have if nobody had seen the poster. Sure, horror movies, no-one survives so it matters not if we see the lead actress screaming in terror and trying to claw her way along the ground. Wrong! What about the The Final Girl?
