12 Stupid Film Posters That Totally Spoiled The Movie

7. The Thirteenth Floor

Columbia

An underrated sci-fi gem, The Thirteenth Floor is a period murder-mystery explored via virtual reality. See, a one sentence outline that has roused intrigue but not spoiled the central twist of the flick, which would be hard to guess as it€™'s something of a corker.

It'€™s a shame the marketing department chose to go a different way and reveal their winning hand on the film'€™s poster, ruining the best shot in the whole movie. When the main character, Douglas (Craig Bierko) thinks that his reality may in fact be false, he hightails it in his car to the city limits only to discover that the world as he knows it is a computer simulation.

Its Russian doll of plot layers play brilliantly because of that very cunning twist, but if you'd paid any attention to the poster, you would already have known what was coming.
