12 Stupid Mistakes That Somehow Made It Into 2013 Movies

9. Led Zeppelin Error - Oblivion

It may seem entirely trivial to reduce Oblivion - a film that was incredibly beautiful, but felt oddly like a composite of almost every sci-fi movie every made - to its most frivolous of errors, but this one says everything you need to know about the film/ When Jack heads back to his cabin for the first time, he selects Led Zeppelin's Led Zeppelin II - a fine choice - and places the record player pin down on the first song of the first side, which should have played the iconic and irresistible "Whole Lotta Love." But, thanks to some disparity between the audio mixers and the visual editor, the song that emerges from the player is "Ramble On," which is in fact the seventh song on the disc, and the middle track of the other side of the disc. There are of course bigger problems with Oblivion than this, but for any Led Zeppelin fan, it's a glaring, and entirely unnecessary error, that would have been avoided simply by not showing the shot of the needle on the disc. And, it's another piece of evidence that the film-makers were more concerned with appearances than they were with actual substance and detail.
