12 Stupid Mistakes That Somehow Made It Into 2013 Movies

8. F*ck You, Science! - Fast & Furious 6

Apparently, in the world of Fast & Furious, science doesn't really matter. Ignoring for a minute the fact that anyone with much of a knowledge of cars would pick the sixth film to pieces - they basically just make up performance stats for factory-set BMWs and have no commitment to the mechanics of damage - the overriding ignorance of the fundamental laws of the universe is concerning. In this weird and wonderful world where cars can jump massive distances without snapping their axles, and windshields ignore industry conventions to avoid shattering, weight means absolutely nothing. Shaw's cars are over-powered and light, and should very easily be able to outperform a factory made car, and definitely Hobbs' heavy tank, but Shaw struggles to shrug either of them off. But then that could be put down to poor driving (even if Shaw is clearly an expert) - what is more confusing is the fact that Shaw's tank, which weighs a good 70 tonnes, could be flipped by the weight of a single, 1 ton car, pulling down on its front end. That's like a toddler being able to smash The Rock into the ground by tickling his nose. All of that pales into insignificance when it comes to the dumbest mistake in the entire movie. You would think that someone behind the camera, whether that is the director, or an editor, or even a passing tea boy, would notice that something was missing from a key actor's face, right? Well, no, because Hobbs (The Rock) suffers from disappearing goatee syndrome about midway through the movie, when his chin adornment goes missing during a conversation with Tej (Ludacris,) before promptly returning. Could someone not have just drawn a beard onto the print with a Sharpie or something?
