4. Hell Hath No Fury Like A Mutant Scorned - The Last Stand

Mystique€™s allegiance to Magneto throughout the first three movies was never in doubt. She stood by him; she helped recruit mutants into the Brotherhood, and she pretty much did whatever he asked, no questions. His commitment to her appeared to be equal, but alas it came with conditions. Conditions which would come back to haunt him. After he frees her from a mutant prisoner convoy, a stunned guard wakes and fires at Magneto. She takes a bullet for him, which turned out to be the mutant cure. Not interested in a human ally, he shrugs her off with a simple €œYou€™re no longer one of us.€ This was possibly one of his greatest mistakes, and another tick in the stupidity column. With her adaptable mutation, it wasn€™t going to be difficult for her to get revenge. She gets intel to the U.S. army about his plans. More importantly, she tells them how to navigate around his mutation. They rustle up plastic guns, which he is unable to control, and fill €˜em with cure darts. The same cure darts that eventually take away his abilities.
