12 Stupidest Decisions Made By Characters In X-Men Movies

3. Jean Chooses To Die - X2

The floodgates have opened: the torrent of water has killed Stryker, and the X-Men are about to depart for a good old knees up. That is until fate intervenes and one of the X-Jet€™s engines suffers a malfunction. Jean hops off the plane, and the rest of the X-Men watch as she protects them from the gushing tides with a telekinetic shield, and kickstarts the jet motors. With everything all taken care of, she stops the shield unleashing a colossal downpour of water onto herself. She saves the X-Men, but she dies. Her self-sacrifice is admirable and obviously courageous, but considering the fact they€™re all mutants with an array of skills between them, she didn€™t have to die. Nightcrawler was onboard. She could€™ve told him the plan, and asked him to teleport outside to retrieve her the second the shield fell. But no, she needed to do it alone, causing a domino effect which was the foundation for The Last Stand. Silly Jean.
