12 Tech Advances We Should Have By Now (According To Movies)

11. Time Travel

Promised By: The Time Machine Time travel is another frequently visited theme in sci-fi movies, but few in such iconic fashion as 1960's The Time Machine, based on a novella by legendary author H.G. Wells. Set in 1900 - five years after the release of the original story - it tells the tale of George, inventor of a miraculous time machine, and the perilous adventures he experienced because of it. So Wells predicted that by 1900 humans would have conquered time travel, and this is a difficult issue to consider. For all we know, time travel has indeed been invented, but we can't pin point when it was that we managed it, or even when the inventor was alive, as they could be on a quest of Whovian implications as we speak. And horrifically, Morlocks may be lurking right around the corner, having hitched a ride on the machine of this careless traveler, so thank you very much, Mr. Wells.
