Amityville: The Awakening, the astoundingly 18th entry in the horror franchise that just won't die, was shot in mid-2014 and delayed countless times over the years due to poor test screenings and Dimension Films' subsequent attempts to rescue the film with re-shoots.

Shockingly, the final result was an abject disaster, plagued by hackneyed writing, generic scares, a meta approach to the series' mythology that falls totally flat, and slumming performances from the talented likes of Jennifer Jason Leigh, Thomas Mann and Cameron Monaghan.

As if that's not bad enough, it only ended up grossing $742 domestically after being released in just 10 cinemas and being quickly purged to Blu-ray.

What It Should've Been Nominated For: Worst Picture, Worst Director (Franck Khalfoun), Worst Actor (Cameron Monaghan), Worst Actress (Bella Thorne), Worst Supporting Actress (Jennifer Jason Leigh), Worst Screen Combo (Bella Thorne and anyone), Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel and Worst Screenplay.
