12 Terrible Movie Characters Redeemed By Awesome Deaths
9. Tim Carpenter - Final Destination 2
It shouldn't be that difficult to endear audiences to a 15-year-old boy who lost his father four years prior, but let's be honest: most of the characters in the Final Destination franchise are merely obnoxious meat-puppets for Death to play with.
Tim Carpenter (James Kirk) is certainly no exception. What makes his character so annoying is his total lack of maturity, even for a teenager: he brings about his own demise by terrorising a flock of pigeons, which seems awfully out-of-character for anyone over, say, the age of about 8.
The reason for this? Tim was originally written to be just 5-7 years of age, before the filmmakers decided that killing a young child was probably crossing the line. For some reason, though, when a decade was added to Tim's age, nobody thought to update the script, and he remains a childish mummy's boy who thinks accosting birds is the height of entertainment.
He had to die, basically.
Cause Of Death: Crushed to death by a falling pane of glass, after the pigeons blind a construction worker and cause him to press the hydraulic release button. The awesome gore effects and Tim's gormless expression as he's killed make this an all-timer of not only the franchise but also the horror genre.
