12 Terrible Movies That Killed An Actor's Winning Streak

The Streak: Despite the tawdry quality of a significant number of his movies, it's hard to argue with Adam Sandler's staying power. His ten-film streak of movies began with The Longest Yard and followed with Click, Reign Over Me (more a critical and personal triumph for Sandler than a financial one), I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Bedtime Stories, Funny People (again, one for the critics), Grown Ups, Just Go with It, and Jack and Jill.

The Film That Broke It: It's difficult to explain why so many people saw Jack and Jill but wouldn't throw down some cash for this, except perhaps that audiences simply didn't care for Sandler having to share the screen with Andy Samberg. Even so, the movie, a rare R-rated effort for Sandler, failed to recoup its $70 million budget, perhaps suggesting rather unsurprisingly that most of his audience is comprised of adolescents. Sandler also scooped a Worst Actor Razzie for his efforts, and of course, the movie was summarily slain by critics across the board.
