12 Things You Didn't Know About December's Biggest Movies

10. A Night At The Museum Spin-Off Starring Robin Williams Was Originally Planned

It's fair to say that expectations aren't majorly high for the third entry into the Night at the Museum series: Secret of the Tomb will likely do just as the two previous films did, delivering an unambitious, undemanding, easy 100-ish minutes at the cinema. Still, most of the attention this time will undoubtedly be pointed at the late Robin Williams, as his recurring performance here as Teddy Roosevelt marks his final live-action role. Still, prior to Williams' untimely demise, the idea of a spin-off movie starring his Roosevelt and Owen Wilson's Jedediah had been talked about, which of course has been quietly dropped now. Even were Williams still alive, though, it seems like something of a strange prospect: after all, would these two characters, fun though they are, really have been able to sustain an entire movie on their own? And wouldn't it just feel like a Night of the Museum movie but without the other characters and therefore not as fun?
