9. Annie Was Originally To Be Played By Will Smith's Daughter Willow

The dubious idea of once again remaking the classic musical Annie was first announced in 2011, a year before young actress Quvenzhané Wallis came to everyone's attention with her ultimately Oscar-nominated work in Beasts of the Southern Wild. With Jay Z, Will Smith and half of Smith's family (wife Jada Pinkett Smith and brother-in-law Caleeb Pinkett) producing the film, it came as no surprise that Smith's daughter, Willow, was soon enough cast in the role. However, by January 2013, Willow had dropped out of the movie, citing her age as a factor given how long the movie had taken to get going. She was promptly replaced by Wallis, an actress roughly 3 years her junior, and given Wallis' acting credentials compared to Willow's absolute lack thereof, everything was right with the world.
