12 Things Fox Want You To Forget Before X-Men: Days Of Future Past

10. That Magneto And Xavier Both Forgot Who Wolverine Was

It might have amounted to nothing but a Stan Lee-like cameo, with limited intent beyond entertainment and disposable, but immediate entertainment factor, but Wolverine's cameo in X-Men: First Class complicated the timeline for the sake of some fan-baiting. You can of course account for Wolverine's inability to recall having met either Professor X and Magneto, since he has his memory wiped in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but there's no explanation as to why Wolverine is an unknown mutant to both Xavier and Magneto. Yes, there is some familiarity in Xavier's guiding of Logan through the Mansion in the first X-Men movie, but that has more to do with the fact that he's basically camping in his brain at the time, and the fact that he doesn't remember that time he went to find an extremely powerful mutant with near unprecedented powers who gave him the shortest shrift possible in response. Knowing Wolverine's volatility, there's a good chance Xavier and Magneto knew what could happen in that meeting if the berserker felt threatened, so his gruff response would definitely have made some sort of impact on a mutant capable of channelling his mind powers as perfectly as Xavier.
