9. She Lied For A Role

In the wake of the Kick-Ass (2010) hysteria, Moretz's career went into overdrive and she had the pick of the bunch for future roles. An actress always furthered by those attached, she seized the opportunity to audition for Martin Scorese's mesmeric silent cinema ode Hugo (2011). The problem was however, the filmmaker and his casting team were categorically looking for British performers only. Despite her American tongue, she went along for the audition and spoke as professionally as possible with a British accent. Moretz read her lines and expressed desire to serve in the film, and luckily for her the callback came in.
