Jared Leto is one of the most versatile method actors of his generation and he is not afraid to drastically change his appearance for his roles. For Requiem For A Dream, Leto lost 28 pounds to play a heroin addict and even gave up sex with his then-fiancée Cameron Diaz for two months (madness, right?). He claims that playing the part of Harry Goldfarb was sadomasochistic and the hardest thing he has ever done. A few years later, he gained over 60 pounds to play John Lennons killer in Chapter 27 and picked up gout in the process. Subsequent to that, the man returned to extreme weight loss when he played Rayon, Matthew McConaugheys AIDS-ridden sidekick in Dallas Buyers Club. Leto fasted for up to ten days at a time in order to appear skeletal. He even shaved his eyebrows and waxed his entire body to pull off the performance of his career. Leto is now back gaining weight for his turn as The Joker in David Ayers Suicide Squad. He is set to become the third Oscar-winning actor to give a live-action reimagining to the sadistic clown, following Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger.
