Jared Letos Academy Award-winning performance as Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club almost didn't happen. After his last role as Nemo Nobody in 2009s Mr. Nobody, the rock star shifted his attention to making music with his band. For a while, Leto was not interested in making movies. However, director Jean-Marc Vallées persistence roped the rock star back into acting and he later named Rayon as one of his most favourite characters to portray. Can you imagine if Leto hadnt played the transgender activist? The winner of Best Supporting Actor in 2014 certainly wouldnt have been so clear-cut, thats for sure.
